About the “Worship Files”

These are the worship files of Origins Church in Austin…let me explain…

I am brand new to the church and have been asked to help in leading worship, which I am very excited about. The pastor, Brannen, collaborated with some of the seasoned folks to provide me a list of songs that really resonated with them and the congregation. I was shocked at how many of the songs I had never heard of before! I am always up for newness, so I knew this would challenge me in a good way. Although, I figure since I am going to learn a ton of new songs, I can also teach a few new ones…or at least bring some back that haven’t been done in a while. However, instead of waiting until Sunday morning, you can come here and check out an acoustic recording (albeit only webcam quality) of a new song each week*. Hopefully this will provide a fun way of learning new songs and hopefully it will appeal to people who aren’t even involved at Origins.

This site will also have some useful links such as iTunes links to the artist for whoever I’m covering, lyrics, chords/tabs, and more. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment on any of the posts.

*each week is probably way too ambitious, don’t be surprised if I fall behind

  2. hey man! loving the content of your blog. i just subscribed to your feed.

btw, when you’re doing your recording, is that from your home studio? nice rig (and great quality video)!

    • Thanks for the encouraging words!

I have a “music room” at the house which I love, it’s kinda my sanctuary. I don’t have any fancy recording equipment, though, I’m just running from a mixer into the line input of my Mac. For video, I’m using a Panasonic point & shoot camera and I really like the results.
